Our Goals At Bunde Church
As committed followers of Jesus at Bunde, we strive to better serve God in our community and share Christ with everyone. We seek to do our best through faith, surrendering to God for his help, and depending on the guidance and timing of the Holy Spirit.
- In a world that is ever changing, we see our community becoming more and more diverse in its ethnicity, age, affluence, and occupation. We are no longer just an agriculturally based German community. Therefore, we will respond to changes of diversity with listening and loving, sensitivity and care, presenting grace and truth.
- Far away places are no longer the setting for a church’s missional activities. We recognize the need for Jesus in our communities and all around the world. Because our neighborhoods are the new mission fields, we will engage in our daily activities and conversations to be Jesus wherever the Holy Spirit brings an opportunity for connections and relationships. Every encounter holds the potential for a spiritual mission moment.
- Reflecting a passionate, Christian life and demonstrating that lives can change is vital to being the church. This requires us to embrace the willingness to be accountable with all our time. It requires that after each encounter with others, we find God's invitation for further spiritual growth and rejoicing, and a continual dedication to prayer by all of our members.
- Rural ministry relies upon being relational. It is important in the busyness of our lives to take time for being involved in the various small groups and fellowship groups of the church's ministry. The heart of all our small groups are found in the dynamics of:
- Being “with” – Being with God and each other fosters the very core of what holds us together and strengthens our relationships.
- Learning “among” – Participating in short-term educational times deepens our love for God and each other through spiritual growth.
- Doing “alongside” – Working with each other in serving refreshments after worship, participating in multigenerational fellowship times, or functioning in team ministry creates ways to fellowship together.
- Caring “for” – Committing to care groups in order to support each other reinforces another core value of showing love, not judgment.
- To have an effective and vibrant church, every one of us must contribute to accomplish the tasks set before each of us in being the Church. We believe God has given each of us gifts to use in service to Him. We will help each person to identify these gifts and how to use them.
- God calls us to be stewards of the time, talents, and treasures He gives to us. We are committed to assisting everyone to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
